Photo Competition

The below photos  were taken from around the UAE by my dad and have been submitted for a photo competition here in Dubai. Enjoy!

Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. This is easily one of the most eloquent mosques that I have ever seen

This is the view as you drive from Oman to Dubai, a vast array of desert and a mountainous view

Long & Overdue

As we are sure you have all been highly anticipating the launch of our extremely delayed blog, here is our first official post!

As Steve begins to adapt to the Middle East, I am finally starting to understand why many people become so fascinated with Dubai. I have never really appreciated Dubai until I started to understand the culture. The added bonus of having my best friend with me also gives me assurance and comfort here. Steve and I have become closer than ever and he has been welcomed into my family with open arms.

Though things are moving swiftly (for the most part) for us, we often reflect on how different our life in Dubai would be if our friends were here with us. In almost every occasion, we have both thought and wished that you could be here with us.
The fact that we regularly think of you has proved to both of us just how powerful our friendship is, and how much of an influence you have made in our lives. Words cannot express how much we appreciate your ongoing support and your constant encouragement and motivation. We miss you terribly.

On that note, we want to take the time to thank you for having faith in us and supporting our life choices. Above all, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being such important influences in both of our lives.

Now, on to some serious business. You may be wondering what we have been doing and how we have been spending our days. My dad has been guiding Steve and helping him look for jobs. I will be starting my Zumba classes next week and I am still applying for jobs.
In our free time, Steve studies marketing and I am learning French. On the weekend, we go out with family friends and on Thursdays we go out with our friends.

In the past week, we have been driving around Dubai to find nice photos to take. I enrolled my dad into a photography competition as he has taken professional photography as a hobby. Stay tuned for our next post, I will upload the four of the most awe-inspiring photos we have taken of the UAE.
